Heat Pumps

Commercial Heat Pumps

A heat pump is a device that uses a very small amount of energy to move heat from one location to another. Heat pumps are designed to move thermal energy opposite to the direction of spontaneous heat flow by absorbing heat from a cold space and releasing it to a warmer one. By transporting heat, instead of burning fuel to create it, heat pumps use much less energy than other heating systems.

There are three different types of heat pump, ground source, air source and water source. Our engineers will advise you on the best choice for your needs and the environment in which the property is set.

Ground source and air source heat pumps are ideal solutions for large commercial buildings, they provide both hot and cold air, as well as the additional feature of hot water, all at a cost-effective price.

Ecosmart work in partnership with both Austrian manufacturer, IDM Energie and Swedish manufacturer, Thermia.

IDM have over 35 years’ experience in manufacturing heat pumps. They manufacture the TERRA Geothermal heat pump, a ground source heat pump, which can provide heating, air conditioning and hot water. And the TERRA ML air source heat pump, which can provide on demand heat. These are just two examples of the many heat pumps available.

Thermia are technology leaders in their field. They first developed the heat pump in 1973, and have since delivered thousands of heat pumps to many satisfied customers. There most popular product is the Thermia ATEC which is an Air Source Heat Pump. The ATEC delivers top results when it comes to annual efficiency, and yields the best savings.

Why Heatpumps?
  • Products available range between 50kw- 280kw
  • Ground source and air source available
  • Small installation space required.
  • Low running costs.
  • Clean energy- no emissions, soot or smoke
